Brodie Cup v Seacourt

The Brodie team welcomed a charabanc of Seacourt Juniors- a team that boasted one over 50 adult, a 23 year old and a creche! Unfortunately our doubles pairs had chances but the first pair in particular Andrew Pick and Mark Maclure threw away good positions to lose out in three sets. The Chairman defeated Jess Garside 6/3, 6/4 and Jonny Miller showed wonderful competiveness in an excellent 6/1 third set win. Cometh the Hour and Cometh Norman again against a young lad probably 60 plus years his junior. Norman stormed into a 1-0 lead with cunningly laid chases down the backhand side but that was as good as it got! Not a single further game to be had ... ‘What do you recommend Skipper?’ ‘A handicap of at least owe 15, receive 15 (and a lot more)’ was all the Chairman could offer by way of consolation.
